New year, new you

Man, is that the anthem for this month or what? Maybe it's because we hit a new decade this year, but I've been hearing that phrase non-stop for weeks now and I can't get it out of my head. We've gone through a lot of changes as a family this past year, and most certainly in the past decade. We are starting to feel settled into a routine with our boys and lives, as much as you can when both parents work on-call and random hours. I know this year will bring more changes to our lives, but hopefully all good ones.

For me, personally, "new year, new you" is about growth. I vowed to invest in education to help grow my skills for you all. I've already signed up for two training seminars and mentorships so I can offer some interesting new things. I've always loved fine-art, and I can't wait to learn from some of the best in the industry. I'm counting down the days over here. I also joined a gym, but we'll see how that one goes! My kids love swimming at the C.W. Avery YMCA, so they are my motivation to at least make it in the building. If you see us there, don't hesitate to say hi! I might be a hot mess, but I'll be happy to see you anyways.

Growth comes in other forms, too. I hope that my clients can feel my gratitude and passion for my career, and I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful clientele. I'm hoping to take on an associate photographer this year who will be trained in time for the busy fall rush (stay tuned, still interviewing)! I despise turning clients away when I'm too booked up, and the chaos of fall will be much better managed. That means shorter wait times for galleries and more openings to pick from!

I hope you all have a wonderful new year, and I'd love to hear what your word of the year will be (and why!).
